Super Penthouses in Singapore
As a wealthy and first world country with open and advanced economy, as well as one of the leading financial hubs in the world, Singapore is a magnet for ultra high net-worth individuals from all over the world.
Millionaires and billionaires from different parts of the world come to Singapore and buy high-end luxury condominiums here. And to cater to these needs, developers have developed a wild range of high-end residences, in different parts of prime locations in Singapore.
According to List Sotheby’s International Realty, 6 out of 11 super penthouses around the world on the market right now are in Singapore.
Super penthouse is generally referring to those rare units of more than 10,000 sqft in size, located at super tall buildings, and in prime location. Some of the common attributes of super penthouses include being located at the top floor, at least 4 to 5 bedroom, having a private lift, enjoying 360 degree of spectacular views, private roof terrace and private pool, luxurious quality and finishes plus branded electronic appliances, and of course, a high price tag.
The most expensive and biggest super penthouse in Singapore is the 21,108 sqft 3 storey 5 bedroom penthouse at Wallich Residences, by GuocoLand. It’s reportedly asking for more than S$100 millions.
Wallich Residences is part of the integrated development of Tanjong Pagar Centre by GuocoLand, with grade A office, retails and 5 star hotel, on top of Tanjong Pagar MRT. It’s in the heart of Singapore Central Business District.
The next largest super penthouse in Singapore is The Marq, by renowned luxury condo developer, SC Global. It has a floor area of 17,642 sqft and located near to Orchard. Other super penthouses on the list are from Reflections at Keppel Bay, Hilltops, Boulevard Vue and Concourse Skyline.
So with the sky high price tag, who are the buyers for these super penthouses?
According to the table/sales record above, 6 super penthouses have been transacted from 2006 till 2019. The most expensive transacted super penthouse is Sculptura Ardmore, developed by SC Global. This super penthouse was purchased by co-founder of Facebook, Eduardo Saverin, for S$60 millions. It’s the most expensive condo being transacted so far.
It’s follow by another super penthouse in the same neighbourhood (Ardmore Park, district 10 of Singapore), Le Nouvel. The 5 bedroom penthouse is 13,573 sqft and bought at S$51 millions by Sun Tongyu, co-founder of Alibaba.
Other super penthouses are also bought by foreign multi-millionaires or billionaires.
